I have Heard said We Are Justified By Faith, not Good Deeds. . . That Faith saves us from eternal damnation. Faith makes us righteous in God's sight. That it is not our good deeds, as some believe. Rather, that the Bible clearly states we are justified by faith in Jesus Christ. So, what does it mean to be justified by faith alone? Rock lets the Scriptures shed light on this extremely important, yet often misunderstood concept. Justification by faith is the forgiveness of sins because of faith in thework of Jesus Christ. It is by the GRACE of God for believing in Jesus Christ thatpresents HIS FAVOR -- favor we did not work for. If we have faith in the factthat Jesus Christ died for us, that He rose again, and that He offers us eternallife through believing in Him, we are BELIEVERS. When we believe, Jesus comes into us, lives in us; and we become identified with Him through His sacrifice. Then, when God looks at us, He does not see our sin; He sees the blood ofJesus. . . In God's Eyes : We have done nothing wrong. We arecovered by the blood of HIS Son, Jesus Christ. Therefore, HE pronouncesUS righteous. That is justification by faith.. But WHAT is FAITH? How do we demonstrate FAITH. What do we desire to do to DEMONSTRATE Faith. What does JESUS EXPECT US TO DO ... The apostle Paul said, "By grace you have beensaved through faith, and that not of yourselves; it is the gift of God, not ofworks, lest anyone should boast" (Ephesians 2:8-9). So, do works count towards your being "Saved". NO! One cannot beassured of eternal life by works alone, but Faith Without Works ids DEAD! James 2:14: teaches that faith alone can not save. "Whatdoth it profit, my brethren, though a man say he hath faith and have not works? Can Faith Save Him?" Our Very Lord said: St. Luke 12:42: "Andthe Lord said, who then is that FAITHFUL and wise steward, whom His Lordshall make ruler over his household, to give them their portion of meat in dueseason?" (43) "Blessed is that servant, whom his Lord whenhe cometh shall find so doing. " (44) "Of a truth I say unto you, that he willmake him ruler over all he hath." (45) "But., if that servant say in his heart, MyLord delayeth his coming, and shall begin to beat the manservants and maidens, and to eat and drink, and to be drunken." (46) "The Lord of that servant will come in a day when he looketh not for HIM, and at an hour when he is not aware, and will cut him in sunder, and will appoint him his portion with the unbeliever." [So here Jesus is saying that The Believer will be placed with the Non Believer... and we are aware of what that means!] (47) "And that servant, which knew his Lords will, and prepared not himself, neither did according to His will, shall be beaten with many stripes." [Here is Jesus, in His own words, informing us that Belief and Knowing and DOING of His will is what is important!] In what may be the most quoted Biblical scripture, St John 3:16, Jesus said, "For God so loved the world, that He gave His only Begotten Son , that whomsoever believeth in Him should not perish, but have eternal life." And then goes on to say in St John 3:21,"But he that doeth truth cometh to the light, thathis deeds be made manifest, that they are wrought in GOD. In other words, Belief first, living in TRUTH andthen Works after..... And so, the BELIEF is the word. But what is Belief? St Matthew 5:1 through 48 clearly demonstratesthe WILL OF JESUS CHRIST ... the WILLand WAY you MUST demonstrate your faith! In fact, St Matthew5:16 clearly states: "LetYOUR light so shine before men, that they may SEE your Good Works, and glorifyyour Father which is in heaven." So, let YOUR light shine so that YOUR works can NOW be identified withinYOUR BELIEF in CHRIST!!! There is more to FAITH than BELIEVISM: James 2:20: declares, "Faith without works is dead".
